What we want to achieve.

With private hire drivers on board as members of the PHA, we strive to be a strong and active force in supporting the rights and needs of drivers within the local council. We want to be able to represent drivers and effectively tackle any issues which affect the daily working lives of our valued drivers.

How you will benefit as a PHA member.

Private hire drivers are aware of the obstacles in this sector of work and up until now there has not been anything in place which can effectively challenge such obstacles on behalf of the drivers. By joining PHA, you will no longer be one voice in isolation; rather, you will be part of a strong and cohesive organisation. On your behalf, the PHA can voice opinions, concerns, and issues. As a member of the Private Hire Association, the association will also work towards advising and recommending solutions for the needs of private hire driver. As a strong association, the private hire sector will be taken seriously which will in turn, benefit associations members. We believe our strengths lie within the members we have and we can be viewed as a powerful and progressive tool in negotiations between the association and councils. The Private Hire Association will be working in conjunction with Private Hire Services to facilitate the needs of drivers as a complete solution (please ask office staff for further information about Private Hire Services).

How are we different?

The difference between other associations and the Private Hire Association is that Private Hire Association is an independent association that will concentrate on the rights of private hire drivers and their interests of the private hire sector. We have excellent expertise and knowledge with outstanding links to several organisations that make a difference and cater towards the needs of the private hire driver. We also offer services such as an advice centre were drivers can access friendly and confidential advice. We believe that unity is the core in strengthening the private hire sector as a whole; we believe, for its members “The Private Hire Association is the right way forward”.
